Green Rider:
Open to
Junior and Amateur riders of any age who have never jumped a
course of jumps 26 or higher at any show. The same horse
may have multiple riders. Riders maynotcross enter into any
class with fences 26 or higher.
Junior:
Open to
riders 17 & under.
Adult Amateur:
Open to
riders 18 & over who meet the requirements for Amateur
status as established by the USEF and/or PCHA.
SYVEA Medal: Open to Junior and Amateur riders. To be judged over a
course of hunter and/or jumper type fences approximately
29 in height, with two tests included in the course. A
work off of the top four competitors may be required. Points
will be awarded as follows: 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1.
1. Seven points and
entry in at least two SYVEA
H/J shows prior to Finals in Oct. 2008 are required to
qualify for the Medal Finals.
2. Three competitors must complete the course for the
class to count as a Medal Class.
3. Winners are no longer eligible to compete in the
SYVEA Medal qualifiers.
Santa Barbara County Riding
Club MEDAL: Riders must be SBCRC members. Top four will be required to work off, except in Green
Rider Medal, which will work off at the judges discretion.
All winners are no longer eligible to compete in that
divisions Medal Class. Green Rider Medal entrants will
compete over a series of jumps from 2 to 23. Jr/AA Medal
will be combined at the SYVEA Shows and shown over a series
of fences of approx. 29
Jumpers:
All
Classes will be run under Table II,
Sec. 2.2(a), Sec. 2.2(b)
and Sec. 2.2(c).
Sec. 2.2(a)
The
first round and first jump off, if any, are decided by
adding together the faults incurred over the course and any
penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed. In the event of
equality of faults, after the first round, there will be one
jump-off for first place only in which time will decide in
the event of equality of faults.
Sec. 2.2(b)
The
first round and the first jump-off, if any are decided by
adding together the faults incurred over the course and any
penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed. If a competitor
has gone clean in the first round, the competitor will,
without leaving the ring, upon an audible signal, commence
the jump-off course.
Sec. 2.2(c) The first round faults are decided by adding together the
faults incurred over the course and any penalties for
exceeding the Time Allowed, if any. If a competitor has gone
clean in the first round, he will upon crossing the finish
line, commence the designated jump-off course. Time starts
as the horse crosses the finish line for the initial course.
Time will decide in the equality of faults.
