Everyone is Welcome!

This Saturday April 26, 2008! ! !
Entry Form     Release

Please print and sign both forms
Hope  you saved the day!  And the evening before . . . .

We are setting up TWO arenas this go round, getting ambitious in the success of the playdays.

Katie Candy, our brave, new H/J show chair, has offered to score hunter rounds for us.  A great way to improve your rounds for the "real" shows.  Find out what the judge is looking for and sees as you navigate the course.

And that leaves the jumper arena open for some really fun jumper type course creations.

Vikki Hunt is coming back as our course designer!

Remember, courses will be set on FRIDAY EVENING ! ! !  And help is sorely needed to get all the work done.  Please call 805 245-1845 to find out the time.  Pick ups are useful to pull the trailers around, and all hands are welcome.

Really!

The entry form is attached, you may mail it in or send it back.  You will have to sign a release to get your tickets for entry into the arena.

Thank you all and see you there!

We have had a wonderful start in 2008 with the new Jumper Playday event for the Santa Ynez Valley Equestrian Association. Our first was held January 12th and the second was on March 8th.

We had twelve folks show up for the January playday, and we really lucked out with the weather.  The only clear weekend in the entire month!  Vikki Hunt designed a course that had hunter lines and some jumper suggestions that were quite fun to jump through.

She came back again in March to present a course that 28 riders came to jump, lots of green riders and horses got some good quality time in the ring.

These Playdays are designed as a no pressure opportunity for riders to practice showing and young horses to school. Trainers are allowed in the ring to help their student have a successful round. That is the goal, to do what is necessary to have a good experience for all involved.

Rides begin with poles on the ground and will go up on a time schedule.

If there is enough interest, riders may be able to convince the show management to hold a Jumper Jackpot. But that remains to be seen.

Helmets and boots are required, but show attire is discouraged. And everyone should provide at least one VOLUNTEER! There is A LOT of work that goes into setting the course on Friday evening, and changing courses on Saturday.  We would like to minimize the down time so everyone can have enough time to jump as much as they like.  And putting everything away is a chores best shared . . . !

The entry fees are $7.00 per round, and you have 2:30 minute time frame. This is all about experience, education, entertainment, and fun . . . for horses and riders . . . and spectators alike!

Entry forms will be available on-line by the 10th, check back!
